2. Important Note: Journalisa Software
Journalisa stores all trading data exclusively on your local device. The application does not transmit trading data, portfolio information, or any financial data to our servers or any third-party servers. Your trading history stays on your computer.
This Privacy Policy covers only the data processed through our website and the purchase process, not the Journalisa desktop application itself.
3. Hosting
This website is currently operated on our own infrastructure. Should an external hosting provider be used in the future, personal data will be processed under a data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.
4. Data We Collect
4.1 Server Log Files
When you visit our website, our web server automatically records technically necessary data (server log files):
- IP address (anonymized after 7 days)
- Date and time of the request
- Requested URL and HTTP status code
- Browser type and operating system
- Referrer URL
This data is used to ensure the secure and stable operation of the website and to evaluate download counts in aggregated form. Log files are deleted after a maximum of 30 days. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a secure website).
4.2 Purchase Data (via Stripe)
Software licenses are sold through Stripe (Stripe, Inc., 510 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA), which acts as our payment processor for all transactions.
When you purchase a license, Stripe collects and processes:
- Name and billing address
- E-mail address
- Payment information (handled entirely by Stripe)
- Transaction data for tax and legal compliance
Stripe processes this data as an independent data controller for payment processing, fraud prevention, and tax compliance. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on their data practices.
We receive from Stripe only the data necessary to fulfill your license: your e-mail address and the license key. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
4.3 License E-Mail
We store your e-mail address for license management (sending your license key, handling support requests, and potential license recovery). This data is retained for the duration of your license and up to 3 years thereafter for legal record-keeping, in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR.
4.4 Automatic Software Update Check
Journalisa periodically checks whether a new version is available by connecting to our servers and retrieving a JSON file with version information. Technically necessary data (in particular IP address and time of the request) is processed in the course of this request.
Processing is carried out solely for the purpose of providing updates. No personal profiling or individual analysis takes place. Download counts are evaluated in aggregated form based on server log files only. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in maintaining the functionality of the software).
5. Cookies and Tracking
Our website does not use tracking cookies or analytics tools. No third-party analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) are deployed. The Stripe checkout dialog may set cookies for fraud prevention purposes during the purchase process.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only:
- With Stripe as our payment processor
- Where required by law or a valid legal process
7. International Data Transfers
Stripe is based in the United States. Data transfers to the US are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on the safeguards applied.
8. SSL / TLS Encryption
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption (provided via Let's Encrypt) for security reasons. Data transmitted to and from this website is protected and cannot be read by third parties.
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Access – obtain a copy of your personal data (Art. 15)
- Rectification – correct inaccurate data (Art. 16)
- Erasure – request deletion of your data, where no retention obligation applies (Art. 17)
- Restriction – restrict how we process your data (Art. 18)
- Portability – receive your data in a machine-readable format (Art. 20)
- Objection – object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@huvermann.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Germany: the competent Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz).
